BDO LLP business restructuring partners, Kerry Bailey and Patrick Lannagan, were appointed Joint Administrators over Brandreth Lodge Care Home Ltd, Doddlespool Care Home Ltd and Madeley Manor Care Home Ltd, on 9 June 2015.
Each of the Companies operated an individual care home, being Brandreth Lodge in Wigan, and Doddlespool Care Home and Madeley Manor in Crewe, which provide aid and accommodation for the elderly and disabled and those affected by dementia. Together, these care homes employed 127 staff, the majority of whom work within the facilities.
The Joint Administrators will continue to trade the Companies via licensed agents with a view to effecting sales as going concerns of each of the care homes.
Kerry Bailey, BDO business restructuring partner said:
“Regrettably, the difficult economic climate and reduced occupancy levels have significantly affected these Companies.
“Our first and main priority as Joint Administrators is to ensure continuity of care and provision for all residents living in the three homes. We are working hand in hand with professional care operators to ensure this remains the case and that residents experience minimal disruption and worry.
“We are hopeful of securing a sale of the businesses and the Companies will continue to trade while all options are explored. As such, all staff have been retained at this time, and our intention is to minimise any possible redundancies. We will also be liaising regularly with relevant stakeholders, including the Care Quality Commission, NHS and the respective local authorities, to ensure they are kept fully updated.
“Residents or loved ones have already been contacted individually, but if they have any questions they should contact their local Home Manager for further information.”
