Burlington Care residents and staff are delighted with the announcement of a new partnership with Oomph! On Demand.

The agreement with Oomph! On Demand should enhance the activities already taking place across the group.

Burlington Care employs a legion of imaginative Activity Coordinators who already go way beyond their duties to create different events and activities. Where possible, they enable residents to continue hobbies they have always enjoyed.

This new venture by Oomph!, a digital platform accessed through smart televisions, interactive tables and tablets, is bursting with awesome ideas, expertly designed to help Activity Coordinators and care staff enable all older adults to live a full life, for life.

The platform incorporates different interactive activities, especially for care home residents. These activities include online quizzes and virtual exercise classes. 

Throughout lockdown, Activity Coordinator Lead Elaine Ablett has searched for different online activities to challenge and amuse residents throughout Burlington Care via Activity Coordinators and residents have taken to the digital world like a duck to water!

Jayne Clark, Managing Director, Burlington Care, said, “This service by Oomph! ties in well with the activities we already do but will also act as a support and training mechanism for all our Activity Coordinators, looking for something different to do.

“Our able residents will also be able to access these activities from their electronic tablets, something we intend to encourage.”

“Our homes in Harrogate, Mansfield, Scarborough, Darlington, Barnsley, Rastrick and Anlaby are all taking part,”

“The pandemic has expedited the use of online services, and many of our residents are used to Zoom, Teams, WhatsApp and Facetime. This service follows on nicely from them and takes our residents firmly and safely into the twenty-first century.”

Burlington Care employs around 2500 people and operates thirty-two care homes, two domiciliary care agencies, a pharmacy, a wholesale supplier business for care homes, a training company and a clinical waste business.

Burlington Care operates in 22 towns and cities across Yorkshire, Lincolnshire and the North East. The company looks after about 2300 people and employs around 2500 staff.
