Residents at a Devon care scheme built their own solar system as part of a project to understand the wonders of the universe.
The trip to the outer reaches of the solar system was the idea of activities co-ordinator Jodie Warren as part of a planet themed week at Westmead House, Braunton.
Jodie explained: “We have a number of themed weeks and the people we support wanted to understand about space and our universe.
“The big event was making the planets out of papier mache and you could say it was a big bang in terms of popularity. They really got stuck in and made some fantastic planets.
“We did several activities linked to learning about the planets and even made our own galaxy cookies.”
The Valorum Care scheme specialises in supporting people who have varying needs as a result of physical and long-term neurological conditions, including cerebral palsy, spina bifida, dysphagia, learning disabilities and acquired brain injury.
