Orbis Education and Care has appointed a new Chief Executive Officer as it looks towards a new phase of operation. Suzanne Lawrence joins the leading UK autism care and education provider from Practice Plus Group, formerly Care UK.
Suzanne will work alongside outgoing CEO Mike Currier in his new role as Chief Commercial Officer, as the group looks towards further growth in 2021 and beyond.
Mike said: “Thanks to the hard work, dedication and first-class care shown by our staff and the management team, the goals I set out for the organisation four years ago have been met, but also exceeded.”.
“Moving into a new role as Chief Commercial Officer will enable me to focus on making sure our future is as successful as it has been to date. I’m absolutely delighted to welcome Suzanne, who has extensive knowledge and experience of healthcare businesses, as our new Chief Executive Officer.”
As Director of Strategy at Practice Plus Group, Suzanne looked after a wide range of services including 111 centres, out of hours, GPs, hospitals, walk-in clinics and more, and has a wealth of experience in both public and private healthcare settings.
Suzanne said: “I’m really excited to be joining Obis Education and Care, not least following what has been a period of unprecedented change and adaptation within the healthcare sector generally nationwide.”
“Orbis has shown itself to be a caring and committed provider of care and education services both historically and throughout the pandemic. I’m really looking forward to joining the team and finding out together how we can use what’s been learned along the way to take the organisation on to its next phase.”
Orbis Education and Care runs 16 schools, residential homes and facilities for children and adults with complex needs associated with autism in Wales, and is one of the UK’s leading providers of these specialist services.
