Public-spirited local businesses have responded to a plea for help circulated by a local dementia care home with donations of face-masks, goggles, visors, gloves, shoe covers and antibacterial spray and wipes for use by residents and staff.
Bonnie Frear, deputy manager of Camelot House and Lodge, wrote to neighbouring organisations requesting their support in the face of initial shortages of personal protective equipment and has been delighted with the response.
Bonnie Frear said: “I cannot thank those businesses and members of the public enough for their generosity. It is wonderful how the community has pulled together – everyone really appears to be wanting to help each other.
“I would like to express my sincere thanks to Barry Kasai from Wellington Dental practice, Owen Carroll from Travis Perkins’ Wellington branch, Julie Pick and Kyle Millet, they are all wonderful people.”
