Ash Tree House residential and dementia care home celebrated their first internal staff awards evening to recognise the people who make Ash Tree House such a wonderful place to live and work.
The awards evening was created by Home Manager, Chris Durnan, after a very successful year at the home where they achieved a Care Quality Commission rating of ‘GOOD’ with ‘OUTSTANDING’ in the area of Responsive.
The ceremony featured over 30 awards including categories for staff, residents and visitors. The categories varied from the ‘special achievement’ award to the more light hearted ‘best brew maker’. Each winner was awarded a trophy engraved with ‘Ash Tree House Care Awards Winner 2019’.
Brian Wilson, Resident at Ash Tree House won the award for ‘Most Active Resident’ said: ‘I think it’s fantastic that the staff had an awards evening, they all do a fantastic job for us. I was so pleased to win an award; I didn’t expect it at all. I just like to do my bit to help out it keeps me occupied and switched on’.
The winners of each category were anonymously voted for by fellow team members, residents and visitors. The home received over 200 votes in total.
Home manager, Chris Durnan said ‘It is a joy to work with people who take such great pride in their role. I wanted my team to know how valued they are each and every day!’.
