Residents and staff at Community Integrated Care’s, Winsford Grange Care Home would like to say a huge ‘Thank you’ to staff from Shoosmiths Law Firm and GIA surveyors, both based in Manchester, for helping to spruce up their garden.
The team of volunteers who visited the home on Friday 20th September could not have asked for better weather and were quick to get stuck in, working hard throughout the day, clearing the garden, mowing the lawn and planting a range of flowers and shrubs to give the garden some colour, as we move into the winter months. The team even moved some garden furniture from other areas of the home so residents could get maximum benefit from the garden.
Karen Woodward, Service Manager at Winsford Grange said
“Residents and staff were delighted to watch the progress of the volunteers throughout the day and would like to say a massive thank you to the team for giving up their day to volunteer to come and spruce up our garden.”
Wayne Nash, Partner at Shoosmiths Law Firm said
‘It was a pleasure for us to volunteer at Winsford Grange and it was great for everyone to work together as a team on this project. There was a great sense of achievement seeing the finished garden and it was lovely to faces of residents and staff who really appreciated the effort of all the team.”
Community Integrated Care, one of Britain’s biggest and most successful social care charities encourages residents and staff within its care homes to build and develop relationships with a range of groups, organisations and businesses within the local community to help give them meaningful activities. It also welcomes volunteers and visitors to events and activities within the home as a way of reducing social isolation, particularly as the dark winter nights are now setting in and many older people, or people who have retired early, may not see anyone from one week to the next.
