Following a successful summer fete, Mill Lane Nursing Home in Felixstowe is delighted to confirm that £620 has been raised, which will go towards a large screen and projector to create an in-house cinema for its residents.
The fete took place on Saturday 20th July and saw relatives, friends, neighbours and the wider Felixstowe community attend the fun-packed afternoon. Despite a fierce thunderstorm prior to the start, the weather was kind and everyone was able to enjoy a host of stalls, games and entertainment in the home’s gardens.
The Mayor of Felixstowe very kindly opened the fete and special guest ’Elvis’ aka Andy Ottley was the MC and entertainment for the day.
John Savage, Manager of Mill Lane Nursing Home said, “Thank you to everyone who came along and joined in our special summer fete. Everyone really enjoyed the raffles and stalls and we were delighted to raise £620 for our residents’ fund. We’ve all agreed that an in-house cinema would be loved by everyone, plus we’re also hoping to buy an iPad so residents can ‘Facetime’ their loved ones or enjoy online games or activities.
“I would also like to personally thank the Mayor and Andy Ottley for also supporting our event, and of course to my amazing team – without them we wouldn’t be able to arrange such a fantastic event every year! We all had such a brilliant afternoon and I greatly appreciate everyone’s time and valuable contribution.”
