A new supported living service run by Eden Futures in Warrington has welcomed its first tenants this week.
They have each moved into a specialist apartment designed to provide a supported living service for people with a learning disability or mental health need who require an alternative to residential care provision.
The new service which is located close to the centre of Warrington, Cheshire is made up of 4 bungalows, 2 ground floor apartments and 3 first floor apartments.
Each apartment is generously sized with its own front door, kitchen-diner, bedroom and bathroom. There are communal spaces within the development and a garden area.
One new tenant, Ingrid, told us: “I’m really enjoying living here and feel grateful to be here.” She added: “All the staff are brilliant and I feel very comfortable talking to them.”
Eden Futures has been working in partnership with registered social landlords Inclusion Housing Ltd who ensure the apartments are of the highest standard which allows Eden Futures to provide support that is better tailored to the needs of the individual.
Dave Whittock, Director of Service Development, from Eden Futures told us: “We are really pleased to have collaborated with Warrington Borough Council, Inclusion Housing Ltd and Independent Housing Ltd to bring about this excellent supported living service”.
“It’s great to see that the first two people had the opportunity to move in the day we officially opened the scheme and that they are enjoying their new home”.
Eden Futures support over 600 people in a range of supported Living settings, with over 1,100 staff members working to support, sustain and develop the service.
