North East charity The Avalon Group are celebrating after receiving an ‘Outstanding’ from the Care Quality Commission (CQC). This award recognises the leadership of the team and is a vote of confidence in the management and delivery of our services across the region.
By being awarded an ‘Outstanding’ quality as part of the CQC assessment (which saw the service as a whole rated “Good”), Avalon are given the highest accolade an organisation can receive. The team are particularly proud of being recognised in the area of leadership, as this most recent inspection follows a concerted effort from Locality Manager Lisa Fletcher and her staff to become the strongest team they can possibly be; working together and ensuring synergy between services so that all customers receive the very best support.
When inspecting the leadership of any service the CQC states “the leadership, management and governance of an organisation make sure it is providing high-quality care that is based around individual needs, that it encourages learning and innovation, and that it promotes an open and fair culture.”
This statement is embodied by the charity, who are not just high calibre service leaders, but who truly care for the customers they support, and each other. They are committed to personalisation for all, and they share an ethos of development and trust which ensures staff members and customers alike grow and thrive together.
The CQC inspector said of the service “The Avalon Group is a very forward thinking and proactive organisation. They have fully embraced the personalisation agenda and focused on positive outcomes for their customers. I would recommend Avalon highly and see them as a beacon of good practice.”
Lisa said “I’m so proud of the team and all we have achieved together over the past few years. We are a close knit group who expect high standards of each other, and who want nothing but the best for the people we support. This inspection result reflects what I know to be true about our service: that it is truly outstanding.”
