St John’s Care Home on Hawthorn Bank in Spalding enjoyed a fantastic Summer Fete with residents, staff, families and friends all participating in the day. There were stalls, games, face painting, 50/50 draw and refreshments, stalls were manned by staff and family members with prizes and equipment generously donated by local businesses. The 50/50 draw was won by Care Assistant, Leanne Gilbert and the sweet stall was manned by young helper Ethan Sharp, aged 9.

Entertainment was provided by the fantastic Karen Clare who had everyone singing along and dancing to all the old favourites. St John’s Choir, made up of staff and residents, sang ‘You are my sunshine’ and other songs they’d been learning especially for the event. Residents particularly enjoyed seeing ‘Dolly Lichfield’ a 1935 Austin 10 Lichfield, whilst youngsters loved the bouncy castle kindly provided by Laken Inflatables.

We would like to thank everyone who came along on the day to support us” said Home Manager, Tracey Klue “we’ve had a fantastic day, our residents have loved seeing so many people here and the staff team have worked very hard to ensure we had a successful day”.

The Fete raised over £400 which will go to the Resident’s Comfort Fund which helps to fund day trips and outings, entertainers and other special events for residents at St John’s Care Home.
