The Retired Nurses National Home in Bournemouth, run by charity Friends of the Elderly, enjoyed its summer fete on 21 July. The day was a great success with the beautiful weather, lots of visitors and of course the residents, who had a wonderful day. The event raised £1,630 towards creating a sheltered area in the garden at the care home.
Alan Johnston, Manager at the Retired Nurses National Home, said: “What a fantastic day. Thank you to all those who joined us and made the day such a success. Our residents were really thrilled to see so many people in the home and enjoying the wonderful weather, stalls, refreshments and entertainment. Plus we have raised a brilliant amount of money towards our sheltered garden area, which we hope residents will get much enjoyment from.”
A resident said: ‘’A great day, many visitors, it was good to see lots of people having a good time.’’
