The team at The Manor House care home in North Walsham, Norfolk, was delighted to help a resident fulfil one of her dreams, with a visit to the Theatre Royal in Norwich to see Daniel O’Donnell perform live. Annie Bacon, who has been a resident at The Manor House for almost 18 years making her the longest serving resident at the home, was delighted when a trip to the Theatre was organised for her to see her idol perform.
The Head Chef of The Manor House, Chantelle Lown, who has worked at the home since 1989 and has therefore known Annie the longest, accompanied her to the theatre, while manager Paula Pawsey was happy to ‘play chauffeur’ and drive the pair to and from Norwich.
Confirmed Paula Pawsey: “Annie absolutely loved every second of the show – she is a real Daniel O’Donnell fan! She has a collection of his CD’s – 16 at the last count – and has admired Daniel for many years. We were delighted to support Annie in going to the show; it really was a lovely occasion. For us, activities are so important for all our residents. We work hard to help residents continue their much loved hobbies and interests and it was a joy to make super-fan Annie’s night!”
