The doors to Grosvenor Manor Care Centre, on Heath Lane in Chester, have been officially opened by one of the care home’s first residents, Miss Margaret Laird.

Margaret, who is due to move into Grosvenor Manor in the coming days, was joined by William Jakeman (a New Care resident at Ashlands Manor in Sale) and the Lord Mayor of Chester, Cllr Razia Daniels, to mark the milestone.

Grosvenor Manor, which is a stunning 81 bed ‘new generation’ care facility, will welcome 10 new residents over the course of the next month or so.

In addition to officially opening Grosvenor Manor by cutting the red ribbon, the Lord Mayor of Chester also received the first ever tour of the care facility.

Cllr Razia Daniels comments: “It was an absolute pleasure to visit Grosvenor Manor and I am very impressed by the care home and the team behind it.  It has been tastefully decorated and the attention to detail throughout is evident, which really does make a big difference.

“Such a high quality care facility is a great addition to Chester and I was honoured to have been invited to open Grosvenor Manor, alongside delightful residents.  I wish all the residents and the staff all the very best for the future.”

Chris McGoff, CEO at New Care, comments: “We are thrilled that the Lord Mayor of Chester was able to take time out of her busy schedule to open Grosvenor Manor.  We are incredibly proud of the care facility and were delighted to give her a preview tour.  The cutting of the red ribbon with some of our residents was a truly memorable way to mark the occasion.”

Operated by New Care, a rapidly expanding development-led care home operator, Grosvenor Manor is an expertly designed, state-of-art facility that will provide the highest standards of safety, comfort and care.  It will offer high quality, person-centred care and an exceptional clinical offering, including residential, nursing and specialist dementia care services.

The care home features a high specification finish and is decorated by an interior designer creating stylish yet comfortable and practical spaces.

The well-appointed bedrooms benefit from en suite wet rooms, while the rest of the home offers a variety of communal lounges, dining rooms and secure landscaped gardens.  It also offers a host of hotel-style services including fine dining, a hair salon, nail bar, concierge and a busy and varied programme of activities and events.
