A Lincoln based neurological rehabilitation centre received a visit from MP Karen Lee recently to celebrate its ‘Outstanding’ CQC rating.
The MP for Lincoln took a tour of The Laurels before talking with service users and learning all about why the centre was awarded with the prestigious recognition.
Sue Houston, Registered Manager at The Laurels, commented: “It was a pleasure to receive a visit from MP Karen Lee and our service users were only too eager to talk to her about what they love most about The Laurels.
“All of the team work really hard to ensure that we’re delivering a first-class level of care and so to be praised so highly in the CQC report is what makes it all worthwhile.”
As part of the celebrations, the MP joined everyone for lunch and was invited to take a tour around The Laurels to meet the team of care staff and to find out more about the services which The Laurels offer.
The Laurels provides specialist community-based transitional rehabilitation and supports adults with neurological conditions resulting from injury, illness or diseases. The recent CQC report commended The Laurels for its ability to go ‘the extra mile’ and deliver a safe, effective, caring, responsive and well-led service.
Karen recognised some of the staff at the Laurels from when she worked as a nurse at the local hospital. She also took to Twitter to personally thank Christchurch Group for making her feel so welcome throughout her visit.
