Lincoln care home delighted to be rated ‘Good’ in all areas by CQC


Managers and staff at Eccleshare Court Care Home in Lincoln are celebrating their rating of ‘Good’ following a recent inspection by the Care Quality Commission (CQC). The report rated the care home good in all areas, highlighting that staff were kind, caring and compassionate and supported people’s dignity and independence.

Their determination to provide the very best care for our residents at Eccleshare Court Care Home is reflected in the positive comments in the report”.


The report noted several examples of good person-centred care, with people’s privacy and dignity respected and their independence promoted. The inspectors witnessed a lot of positive conversations that promoted people’s well-being. They saw how the care staff ensured people were treated with kindness and that they were given emotional support when needed.


The inspectors saw that the homes activities champions had a ‘well-being programme’ planned out which was kept under review and included activities people had chosen to undertake. Activities on offer included, making soup, movement to music, a pamper afternoon, games, a singing session, a cheese and wine evening and one to one talking time with the activity champions. The inspectors noted that the home had a working partnership with a local children’s nursery. Residents at the home enjoyed weekly visits from pre-school children which staff described as having had a positive impact on people.


Care staff were supported to promote a positive culture in the service that was focused upon achieving good outcomes for people. Describing this a care staff member commented, “The joy of the job is seeing what the residents get out of living here.”


People were complimentary about the catering and food at the home, the inspectors noticed that kitchen staff understood people’s preferences. They also saw how the chef used this information to guide them in developing the menus and meal preparation.


Eccleshare Court Care Home is home to up to 46 residents and offers residential, nursing and dementia care in a homely setting.
