Residents at Buxton Lodge care home in Caterham‑on‑the‑Hill celebrated St Patrick’s Day in style, with a whole day dedicated to Ireland.
Staff at the care home delighted residents by decorating the home with shamrocks, Irish flags and green balloons, before kicking off the celebrations with a delicious ‘feed’ of Irish Stew, washed down with some Guinness.
Later in the afternoon, residents also got the chance to sample some delicious St Patrick’s Day cake with the help of the care home’s talented chef, Nina.
Theresa Stanton, Activities Coordinator at Buxton Lodge care home commented:
“It was wonderful to celebrate St Patrick’s Day with the residents, especially those who are from Irish backgrounds.
“The whole team had a great time helping residents prepare for the day. These social and engaging activities are really important for the wellbeing of the people we support, and form part of our regular programme of activities.
“It was a great day, enjoyed by all and we are already looking forward to next year!”
