A care home in Pulborough is celebrating 10 years of delivering care in the community.
Hillside Lodge, which has been run by Shaw healthcare since 2007, marked the occasion with a buffet lunch, including a celebratory cake and entertainment in the form of an Elvis tribute act. Special guests on the day included West Sussex County Council’s Cabinet Member for Adults and Health, Amanda Jupp, alongside Suzanne Hughes, Shaw healthcare’s Deputy CEO.
Residents, Bessie Wellstead and Will McNeil, have lived at Hillside Lodge for all 10 years, happily making it their home with support from their families and staff. Bessie was given a house plant and a box of chocolates, while Will was thrilled to be presented with a bottle of brandy and his favourite toffees, in recognition of their 10 years at Hillside Lodge.
Also recognised during the presentation was assistant cook, Emma Owens, who was congratulated for her five years’ service, and nurse, Leah Dondo, who has worked at Hillside Lodge since it opened in 2007.
Home manager, Angie Douglass, said: “Both Karen, my deputy, and I are very proud to be part of the Hillside Lodge team, where our philosophy and care values ensure that our residents feel well cared for, loved, and able to make Hillside their home.
“The opportunity to celebrate important milestones with two of our longest standing residents and two members of our team here have made the occasion even more special.”
