A care home in Blairgowrie is saying farewell to the housekeeper who has been part of the team for almost 30 years, as she takes a well-earned retirement.
Helen Lovie, who was the housekeeper at Muirton House, on Essendy Road, has retired from the post after 28 years of service.
Helen was initially employed as a laundry assistant in 1989, and her career progressed to head of housekeeping.
A surprise tea party was held for Helen where gifts and flowers were presented to her from the residents of the home and her colleagues.
Catherine Russell, Home Manager at Muirton House, said: “Helen has been an asset to Muirton House over the past 28 years, and we will certainly miss her. She has always had a great deal of pride in her work and in the home.
“Maintaining a high standard of cleanliness is essential to Muirton House, and Helen always ensured that the home was spotless. She has set a high bar for our next head of housekeeping.
“We all wish Helen a very happy retirement.”
Helen Lovie said: “I have thoroughly enjoyed working at Muirton House for nearly 30 years. I have loved making the home feel warm and friendly, bringing in plants and bulbs to make the garden look nice as well as keeping the rooms clean and tidy.
“I still feel like I’ll be part of the Muirton House family, even though I’ll be enjoying my retirement.”
