Somerset care home wish project reaches new heights

Sydenham House staff have pulled out all the stops to grant another wish for one of the residents.

Following Eric’s wish to be reunited with a Harley Davidson, Colin was the next resident to have his wish granted.

Colin Chick is a former of the RAF and expressed his wish to visit the Fleet Air Arm Museum.  Sydenham House staff waved their magic wands and paid for Colin to visit the museum in Yeovilton. Accompanied by his daughter, Andrea, Colin was given the VIP treatment by the museum staff, who were incredibly accommodating and supported Colin to get into the cockpit in one of the planes.

Colin was delighted with his wish and told the Bridgwater care home team: “I had a brilliant day. The staff were lovely. I loved seeing all the planes again; I’m glad I did it with my daughter.”

The wishes project continues to be successful at Sydenham House and was noted in their Care Quality Commission inspection, which rated the Bridgwater home ‘Good’ in all areas.
