Sanctuary Supported Living secure mental health services in Cambridgeshire

Sanctuary Supported Living (SSL) has secured a contract to deliver mental health services in Cambridgeshire following an agreement with Cambridgeshire County Council worth more than £1m a year.

The national housing, care and support provider will be delivering a combination of supported housing services and floating support directly to clients in the community.

The agreement, which will initially run for three years, includes one supported housing property staffed 24 hours a day throughout the year, as well as a further four properties lower risk clients.

A number of offices throughout the county will also be used to organise a network of floating support, delivered to the homes of clients seven days a week.

Clients at all three types of service will receive personalised support, through tools such as the Recovery Star, assistive technology, a Personalised Client Fund for activities like training courses and direct client involvement in shaping the service.

Budget for the service will also include a peer support co-ordinator to build links with local colleges to deliver volunteer placements.

SSL area service manager Kate Shaw said: “We’re delighted to be working with Cambridgeshire County Council in delivering this service, which provides personalised care and support for our clients, tailored to their individual needs.

“Sanctuary Supported Living residents play a key role in the development of their service and help to shape events and activities, so the Personalised Client Fund will be a great tool to help achieve this.”

Councillor Anna Bailey, Chairman of the Cambridgeshire County Council Adults Committee added: “We are looking forward to working with Sanctuary to provide care and support to some of the most vulnerable people in our society. Mental health is a key issue for the council and as we strive to keep residents safe and well, we are excited to work closely with Sanctuary.”
