Ashley Court care home based in Poole recently held its annual summer fete and is proudly sharing its huge success.
The home, which is part of the Healthcare Homes Group, provides nursing and residential care for up to 60 residents, many of whom live with dementia.
The fete was held on Saturday 12th August and saw members of the public joining staff and residents in an afternoon of music, food and entertainment.
A staggering £980 was raised from stalls and donations, including a special donation from the family of an Ashley Court resident who sadly died earlier this year.
The weather was kind and the crowds who attended enjoyed watching local entertainer Allan Knott, and partaking in the BBQ, ice cream, and tea and cake stalls.
A grand raffle was held with over 20 prizes and many of the Ashley Court team dressed up in 1960s fancy dress.
The money raised from the event will go towards the Residents’ Fund which will be used for special trips, outings and lunches, and to buy additional arts, crafts and sensory items.
Home Manager Rachel Bedford said, “We are all thrilled with the success of the weekend’s fete. We were so well supported by members of the local community, as well as friends and relatives of our residents.
“Our residents had such a wonderful time meeting so many new people and enjoying the entertainment, and it was a great way for us to introduce local community members to live at Ashley Court.
“We are staggered by the amount we raised and will look forward to using it to provide even more enjoyable activities and outings for our residents.”
