National Association for Safety and Health in Care Services announce winners of Safety in Care Awards 2017


Following on from the success of previous awards, NASHiCS have announced this year’s awards winners.

Best Practice Award.
Aneurin Brown, Hallmark Care Homes
Award presented by Emma Wells of Jackloc

These prestigious awards were open to everyone who works in the social care sector, across the UK, both members and non-members of NASHiCS whose dedication, skill and knowledge deserved recognition. Nominees were required to submit evidence of innovation and measurable benefits to health and safety management of their organisation.

Individual of the Year.
Heather Foster, Leading Lives Award presented by Jack Brevitt of Evaccess

The three categories and the winners are as follows:


·       Individual of the year award;

·       WINNER: Heather Foster, Health and Safety Advisor, Leading Lives


·       Learning and training award;

·       WINNER: The Richmond Fellowship Scotland


·       Best practice award.

·       WINNER : Aneurin Brown, Head of Health & Safety & Estates, Hallmark Care Homes


Finalists were announced at the Safety in Care Awards Dinner on the eve of Tuesday 12th September 2017 as part of their National Conference titled “The Fair Way to a Safer Way” In excess of 120 social care professionals attended the conference over the two days.

Richmond Fellowship Scotland
Award presented to Peter McNally by Andy Hollingshead Vice- Chair NASHiCS

NASHiCS  aim to promote and improve health and safety within care services and to provide a forum for individuals and organisations involved in any aspect of health and safety to exchange and share information, experience and expertise.
