Celebrations took place at Southlawns care home earlier this month to recognise their long-serving members of staff.
The party recognised staff who had marked service ranging from 5 to 25 years, with an outstanding combined total of 100 years. Amongst those being acknowledged was manager, Catherine Brown, who has reached an impressive 25 years at Somerset Care.
Presentations were made to the staff by Manager, Catherine Brown and Operations Manager, Sue Harvey. Both them spoke at the event and thanked the staff for their continuous dedication and support to the residents living at the Street care home.
A presentation was also made to Vanessa, who moved onto pastures new after working at Southlawns for the last 11 years. Vanessa was presented with an assortment of leaving gifts and was thanked by staff and residents for her hard work.
After the presentations were made, residents and staff raised a tipple of choice to toast the staff and tucked into a delicious buffet. A musician provided live entertainment, which got residents and staff up on their feet dancing and singing along.
Speaking at the event, Manager, Catherine Brown said: “It’s been a fantastic day. We’ve got a really dedicated group of staff here and it’s great that we can all gather together to thank and reward them. The event was a big hit with our residents; it was lovely to see so many of them on their feet enjoying the entertainment.”
