One of Kent’s leading home care providers, Bluebird Care, has promoted Liz Wilson to the new post of Live-in Care Manager to look after the company’s growing number of live-in care customers.
Liz will be responsible for overseeing and supporting the development and growth of the home care agency’s new Premium Live-in Care Service, which is already proving to be a popular to care visits for customers who would prefer to remain in their own home rather than move into a care home.
Bluebird Care delivers home care services to elderly and vulnerable people across Maidstone, Dartford, Gravesham, Tonbridge and Tunbridge Wells. The company has recently launched its Premium Live-in Care Service which provides customers with round-the-clock care seven days a week. Care Assistants live with customers in their own homes for anything from two weeks to providing ongoing long-term care and support.
Liz has worked for Bluebird Care since 2012, having previously held positions as a Care Supervisor and Care Manager at the company’s Maidstone office. She has been promoted to the post of Live-in Care Manager to oversee Bluebird Care’s Premium Live-in Care team, which is made up of 60 Live-in Care Assistants, who currently support more than 30 customers across the five towns where Bluebird Care operates.
Commenting on her new role, Liz Wilson said: “I am excited to start this new chapter in my career at Bluebird Care and look forward to working with our customers and our carers to deliver the very best care and support across Kent.
“Working in the care sector is very rewarding; it’s a pleasure to meet so many new people and I enjoy knowing that the services we provide are making a real difference to people’s lives.
“Bluebird Care also has a culture of promoting from within, which is very rewarding as it provides all of our staff with fantastic opportunities for career progression. Like me, the majority of managers working within the company started their careers as care assistants with Bluebird Care.”
With increasing pressure on health and social care services across the country there is a need for a long-term, realistic alternative to residential care. Live-in Care provides customers with a dedicated one-to-one service in the comfort and familiar surroundings of their own home.
Bluebird Care is aiming to grow its customer base for Live-in Care services to around 40 customers over the next six months. The majority of its Live-in Care business comes from existing customers, who often require additional help and support as their mental or physical health deteriorates.
Clare Mortlock, Operations Manager at Bluebird Care, said: “With nearly 15 years’ experience working in the care sector, Liz brings with her a determination and commitment to provide an outstanding and personalised Live-in Care service.
“Our goal at Bluebird Care is always to provide the highest standard of care and support, to enable people to continue living in their own homes and to maintain their independence for as long as possible.
“We’re excited about the launch of Premium Live-in Care as it provides a further level of support to those customers who need extra help and support, but aren’t ready or willing to move into a residential care home.”
