The role of Client Services Co-ordinator has been taken on by Karen Houghton, who first joined the company as a support worker in 2014 and most recently has been based with the Service Management Team.
The new Client Services Co-ordinator role not only means a dedicated person is assigned to ensure the smooth-running of contracts with social services, but also contracts with the Stroud-based company’s many private clients.
Steve Mills, director of DoCare, which he set up in 2004 with wife and co-director Una, said the move in part was a response to increasing demand from individuals arranging their own care needs and also due to pressure on social services.
“There are increasing demands on social services, and also on our own business but our priority is always providing and maintaining an excellent level of service to our clients,” he said. “By creating this role, we now have a person whose sole task is to ensure all client contracts are in place and running smoothly, and that if any issues arise they are dealt with swiftly.
“We are delighted that Karen is taking on this role. She is a valued member of the team and we know she will do a great job.”
Karen said: “I am really looking forward to taking on this new position. I love being with the SMT team but wanted a new challenge.”
Stroud-based DoCare covers Bristol, Gloucestershire, South Gloucestershire and West Oxfordshire, supporting a mix of private clients and those referred by social services across its area.
