Each surpassed their personal fundraising targets thanks to contributions from across the Stratford Road home’s community of friends, families and contacts.
Amid smiles all round, resident Dorothy Noyce, 103, joined staff and family members including Libby’s daughter Shannon, for some of the shaving.
Debbie said: “I do feel emotional about it but I keep reminding myself why we’ve done it. It’s for such a good cause. Some people who lose their hair because of cancer won’t have the luxury of seeing it grow back. That’s really why we’ve done this – to help raise money for them.”
