Home of Compassion celebrated a year of providing first-class care to Thames Ditton residents with a birthday celebration on Saturday, one of the hottest days of the year so far.
The event was attended by more than 100 relatives, friends and members of the local community with a glass of champagne on arrival and a relaxed afternoon on the lawns with a sumptuous tea. There was entertainment and garden games suitable for the whole family.
Home of Compassion is a Thames Ditton landmark – an 18th Century Grade II* listed property which was lovingly renovated by Caring Homes and provides residential, nursing and dementia care for up to 78 elderly residents.
With fabulous views across the river Thames, the impressive mansion sets new standards for care homes with facilities to rival those of a top hotel.
Home manager Avril Jones said it has been a busy year which everyone was happy to celebrate; “It has been a fantastic year for us and we have really got involved with the local community, sponsoring the Ditton Fair and inviting people in for events,” she said.
“We were delighted with the turnout for our celebration and our residents had a wonderful afternoon. We all love living and working in this wonderful building and are proud to call it home – we are now looking forward to seeing what the next year brings.”
