Having been nominated for the Most Motivational Benefits prize at the esteemed Employee Benefits Awards for the second year in a row, the Sunrise team this year won the award at a glamorous ceremony in the stunning Artillery Garden in London.
The judges were so impressed with the Sunrise entry that they also shortlisted the team for the Grand Prix prize for overall winner of the Awards.
The Employee Benefits Awards, now in their 15th year, recognise employers throughout British industry who develop innovative ways to engage and encourage their workforce.
The high job satisfaction within the Sunrise team was demonstrated in a recent staff survey. When asked to respond to questions about reward and recognition, staff scores were ranked 28% higher than the UK benchmark.
The most recognised event on the Sunrise motivational calendar is the Heart and Soul Awards ceremony, which has been running for ten years, and has so far honoured over 600 team members. The ceremony recognises team members who embody the compassionate values of Sunrise, going ‘above and beyond the call of duty’ in serving residents.
In addition, Sunrise also holds an annual event to showcase the high standard of Chefs within the organisation, and regular Recognition Days, which celebrate the role of administrators, nurses, maintenance staff, carers, housekeepers, concierge and chefs in the group’s success.
As well as the benefits offered to staff, Sunrise communities have long been praised for the personalised care that they provide to residents, and the dynamic, engaging environment that they create. Residents are encouraged to live active, healthy lives, and develop their skills and talents.
Suzanne Foody, Benefits Advisor at Sunrise Senior Living, said:
“We always pride ourselves first of all on providing a great service to our community of residents – but we can only do that if our team members are happy and fulfilled. That’s why this nomination is a great vote of confidence in the whole team.
“We believe a company is only as good as the staff it employs, and we spend a lot of time and effort making sure our team members feel ideally supported.
“We’re delighted to have been recognised for the creative ideas we’ve developed at Sunrise, and look forward to developing many more. A huge thank you to everyone who has contributed to this success.”
