East Yorkshire care home celebrates ‘outstanding’ CQC inspection

Yorkcare Care homes own Magdalen Park in Hedon , East Yorkshire is celebrating an ‘Outstanding’ inspection by the Care Quality Commission. Read the report here

 

Magdalen Park is a new build nursing home which opened on the 1st September 2014 after an investment of £4.15 million. The home, situated on Magdalen Lane in Hedon, can accommodate up to 70 residents needing nursing, residential or dementia care.

 

The home which has a traditional ‘street scene’ including a shop called Sweets and Treats, a hair and beauty salon and a fully licensed pub called the Magdalen Arms. Both the first floor and second floor have outdoor areas, the first with a terrace off the lounge and the second floor having a rooftop garden including an artificial bowls green.

 

Magdalen Park won the prestigious Pinders Healthcare Design Award for the Best New Build Care Home 2015 in the UK

 

 Jonathan Garton, Operations Director commented; ‘We are delighted that the hard work and quality of care the staff at Magdalen Park provide has been recognised by CQC with the ‘Outstanding’ rating. To be the first private care home in Hull and East Yorkshire to achieve this award is fantastic and the staff should be very proud of their achievement.’

 

‘As a company we are currently due to open our new venture in Beverley at Beverley Parklands in September – a similar facility as Magdalen Park where we will endeavour to give the same ‘Outstanding’ care!’
