Teen magician Luke Lenihan wowed celebrity judges on the hit nationwide show with Simon Cowell rating his performance as “the most unique magic act ever.”
Visitors to HC-One’s The Oakes care centre enjoyed a series of activities and entertainment including a Birds of Prey show, clothes show, beauty treatments, a potluck party and a local choir performance.
A burger and ice cream van was also on site to provide food and refreshments to hungry guests.
Stuart Tyrer, HC-One’s home manager at The Oakes, commented: “We really enjoyed welcoming the local community on the day. It was lovely to welcome guests on the day.
“The day gave a real sense of how local businesses and residents support our home to create a truly homely environment for all that live here.”
Luke’s uncle, John Lenihan, added: “Luke entertained staff and residents at The Oakes when he was thirteen years old and he’s gone on to achieve great things since.
“He has performed for high profile sport personalities and to large audiences at the 02 Arena in London, so it’s a real treat that he came back to perform especially for The Oakes.”
Care Home Open Day is a nationwide initiative aimed at connecting local communities, developing lasting relationships and encouraging intergenerational rapport.
