Island Court Care Home in Dudley announces a positive Care Quality Commission (CQC) report, which records the home as GOOD across all five categories of inspection.

Representatives from CQC undertook an unannounced visit to the home on 15 February 2017, and the report has rated the home good for being safe, effective, caring, responsive and well-led.

The home provides residential and nursing care for up to 55 older people, some of whom are living with dementia.

The report was extremely positive across all areas, with all good feedback from the individuals approached. The home was commended for its good operational structure, with open channels for residents, relatives and staff to give their views and feedback. Relatives had given very positive feedback.

Ratings are given based on observations of the home by the unannounced CQC team, and on conversations with staff, residents and their relatives. The report is part of CQC’s programme of inspections.

Comments include;

“The staff all love him to bits. All the staff talk to him. They take their time with him and don’t rush him.”

“We are very fortunate to have a stable group of staff, many of whom have worked here for a good number of years. I have been here for 18 years and we have such a committed team with great support from families – the home has a familiar and ‘friendly’ atmosphere. This rating is definitely a team effort, and we are very proud.”
