For care home staff, the Greensleeves Care Awards are ‘a chance to shine’ and to celebrate excellence in service delivery. This year, the awards took place at a Gala Lunch at the prestigious Kia Oval venue in London on 25 April and were attended by staff from all 20 care homes managed by Greensleeves Care.

The annual event gives a chance to recognise hard work and dedication which takes place ‘behind the scenes’ at care homes. Whether it is a unique way of interacting with residents, making them feel very special and anticipating their emotional and physical needs, or whether it is designing a beautiful care home garden where the residents enjoy spending time, the charity recognises this excellence through its programme of awards.

The guest speaker at this year’s awards was Suzanne Mumford, Dementia Care Consultant to Carebase. Suzanne has a wealth of dementia experience which has led her to be at the forefront of dementia care. Her passion is to enable people to support best practice through collaboration and kindness. Suzanne’s talk about the person-centred approach to dementia care was highly inspiring.
