The new rating makes CMG the only major learning disability provider in England to have achieved this prestigious milestone.
CMG is a leading provider of residential care, supported living services and domiciliary care for people with learning disabilities. Chetwynd Road is the latest CMG service to join the Kings Road service in Hampshire, the Ridgeway service in Essex and the Avenue Road service in South Norwood, in being rated ‘Outstanding’.
The report praised the pioneering way in which Chetwynd Road was led, stating that “leaders and staff worked innovatively and passionately to ensure people’s lives were their own, and focused on their abilities and wishes, not on their disabilities”.
Inspectors highlighted the “strikingly significant range of initiatives and support available” which “successfully helps empower and promote people’s choices and aspirations”. The report also commended the service for the tailored, individual care plans which are “personalised with individual wishes”.
The success of the Chetwynd Road service further confirms CMG’s position as a leading player in providing specialist care services, and their determination to drive up standards across the sector. 95 percent of their services are now rated either ‘Good’ or ‘Outstanding’, an achievement which is well above the national average.
Lorraine Nash, manager at CMG’s Chetwynd Road service, commented:
“Our achievement here at Chetwynd Road is testament to the whole team, who know the individuals we support inside out. We are all committed to meeting the individual needs of our service-users, which helps us to be responsive, making it a happy home for all.
“A staff member suggested that the morale has come from an enthusiastic management team, who are always happy to help. I am very proud that Chetwynd Road has been rated ‘Outstanding’.”
Peter Kinsey, Chief Executive of CMG, said:
“We are absolutely delighted for Chetwynd Road, and that the high quality care delivered each day by the team has been recognised by CQC. It is also another brilliant outcome for CMG, and yet another example of the enormously positive results that can be achieved as a result of personalised care that is delivered with real passion – something which is championed across all our services.”
