New Manager appointed at Hexham specialist hospital


Danshell Group has promoted Mick Batey to Manager of its Chesterholme hospital at Hexham.


Mick is a highly experienced Learning Disability Nurse, having worked for 26 years in the health and social care sectors in nursing and management roles.


He also is well-versed in delivering training and specialising in positive behavioural support.


During the last two years with Danshell, Mick has demonstrated dedication and commitment to both service users and staff.  He began working at Chesterholme as a staff nurse and progressed to charge nurse before taking over as Manager of the hospital.


Mick said: “As soon as I joined Danshell I realised it was a company that had a similar philosophy of support and care to my own.


“It is really satisfying to work for an organisation that focuses on supporting service users to lead as independent and fulfilling lives as possible.


“I am looking forward to supporting and leading the team at Chesterholme to build further on the excellent care and support it provides.”

Chesterholme, an independent hospital situated in Hexham, Northumberland, provides assessment and intervention for up to 16 adults with learning disabilities.
