Haslingden Hall care home in Lancashire announces an overall positive GOOD rating from a recent Care Quality Commission (CQC) report this month.

Representatives from CQC undertook an unannounced visit to the home on 23 and 25 January 2017, and the report has come through rating the home good for being safe, effective, caring, and a responsive and well-led service.

The home provides residential care for up to 76 older people, some of whom are living with dementia.

The report was particularly positive across many areas, including the strong relationship between staff and residents, the home’s good organisation and well-documented records and the positive environment in the home. Particular note was given to the broad programme of activities and their vibrant displays throughout the home.

Ratings are given based on observations of the home by the unannounced CQC team, and on conversations with staff, residents and their relatives. The report is part of CQC’s programme of inspections, with all adult social care services being given a rating.

Comments include;

“I feel very safe here and I like it very much.”

“The staff are grand, they make sure we are all safe.”

“I cannot praise the staff enough.”

“The staff are fantastic, they allow (resident name) to be independent, and she can do what she wants to do.”

“This is the best care home in the district.”

Emma Bingham, Registered Manager, commented; “The report is a credit to the staff and a highlight for the home.

We know that we have a really strong sense of community and interaction with our residents and their families, and it means a lot to have this reported here.

“We are pleased that the home community is happy here, we do our very best to create a home-from-home environment, and to create a sense of occasion in everything we do, from sitting down to an evening meal, to sharing events and activities in the home.”

Tracey Tomlinson, Director of Customer Experience, commented “What a great report for the home. When you walk into Haslingden, you can immediately feel how warm and welcoming it is and we’re really pleased that the staff have been recognised in this way. Congratulations to the home.”
