The Hanover Housing Association facility, Hanover Court, has been shortlisted in the ‘Best UK housing with care for 44 – 52 units’ category. The awards, which celebrate the best examples of housing for later life, are run by the Elderly Accommodation Counsel (EAC) and recognise retirement housing estates which are the best in their field.
The Cinderford estate opened a stunning new £2.3 million extension last year that saw an additional 20 high quality self-contained apartments coming online.
In the same category, another Hanover extra care property, Blaise Weston Court, received a commendation from judges. The Bristol property, which contains 55 purpose built extra care apartments, sees residents benefit from a wide range of on-site facilities including shared landscaped gardens, a hobbies room and a hair salon.
Rowena Hindle, Regional Manager at Hanover said: “We are delighted to have had both properties nominated in the EAC Awards. Hanover Court is a fantastic estate with a lovely community feel. In addition to hosting a number of wellbeing activities the estate has a stunning sensory garden where residents and members of the local community can socialise and enjoy the scenery and rich fragrances created by the beautifully designed gardens.”
This year’s awards will be celebrated at Edgbaston Cricket Ground, Birmingham on 16th May 2017 where the bronze, silver and gold awards winners will be announced.
