Somerset Care Group welcomes new Executive Director of Development

The Somerset Care Group is delighted to welcome Jo Wren as their new Executive Director of Development.

This is a new Board-level role to lead business growth and development of the Group’s residential, learning disabilities, home care and training services. Jo is leading Somerset Care’s Marketing and Business Development teams to share her extensive knowledge, as well as supporting Somerset Care’s ethos of delivering high quality, personalised care and support.

Jo has worked at a senior level for a number of well-known brands, including; Tesco, GlaxoSmithKline, Black and Decker, Imperial Brands and Gerber Refresco.  She went to university in London and obtained an Honours degree in Consumer Product Management.

Speaking on her appointment, Jo Wren said: “I am delighted to be joining the board at the Somerset Care Group as Executive Director of Development. A challenging (critical) time in the sector, where I can begin to focus upon working alongside a wealth of talented and experienced colleagues to provide care for those most in need in our communities – making sure that we have the best interests of people at heart, and work with all the key stakeholders to ensure good solutions are sought and implemented.”

Jane Townson, CEO, said “Jo has amassed extensive experience of researching and understanding what consumers want and need; creating products and services to meet those needs; developing and marketing consumer products and brands; and ensuring outstanding customer service. These skills are exactly what we need to complement those in the senior team to enable us to implement our strategy, ensuring our care services are widely available to as many people as possible. We feel very fortunate to have Jo on board and welcome her warmly to Somerset Care”.

 Jo Wren took up the new post on Monday 13th February.
