Extra care tenants ring in Chinese New Year

A taste of the Orient was on the menu at Watling Court in Gravesend, when tenants got together to get into the spirit of celebrating the Chinese New Year.

Tenants of the Ifield Way extra care housing scheme got together on Saturday 28th January to commemorate the start of the Chinese New Year and enjoy a celebratory party.

Gathered in the dining room, the tenants got into the spirit of the celebrations by enjoying a delicious Chinese themed feast for their dinner.

They tucked into a tasty buffet of noodles, spring rolls, sweet and sour and a variety of other dishes, including fortune cookies, whilst enjoying a tipple or two and a natter with one another.

Helen Goulding, scheme manager of Watling Court commented: “We like to host a variety of social events here at Watling Court and our tenants love nothing more than a get together with a nice meal.

“Everyone had a lovely evening discussing the Chinese culture and what the New Year meant, they are all now very excited for our Valentine’s Day celebrations!”
