Arthur House had a day dedicated to Chinese New Year celebrations. There was music, entertainment and opportunities for residents to explore the history of Chinese New Year.
Nicolas Kee Mew, Home Manager of Arthur House, said: “Our residents are always interested in learning more about the world. I thought that there was no better way to learn more do than by holding Chinese New Year celebrations right in the heart of Wimbledon Park.”
Residents enjoyed discovering their Chinese horoscope and practising Chinese calligraphy.
Arthur House has always sought new ways to entertain residents. In 2015, the X Factor final came to the care home in Wimbledon as residents made Simon Cowell the butt of the joke.
A film crew from the X Factor pitched up to record a sketch with a Simon Cowell look-a-like. The filmed item was due for broadcast on the Xtra Factor after the final, to show Simon Cowell what his life would be like once the juggernaut show is over.
Nicolas Kee Mew added: “Everyone had such a great time on Chinese New Year. We frequently hold events like these as we find they are really beneficial to our residents. We have lots more planned for 2017.”
