The home, in Mapplewell, Barnsley, was awarded the second highest rating after carrying out an action plan of improvements following the last inspection.
Inspectors spoke with residents and family members who “told us they felt safe living at Deangate and they liked the staff”, the report stated.
It also said: “People were supported to have maximum choice and control of their lives.” And “there were effective systems in place to monitor and improve the quality of the service provided”.
Deangate Care Home, operated by the Hill Care Group, will aim to achieve the highest rating of “Outstanding” at the next inspection, says home manager Jonathan Edwards.
He said: “We are extremely pleased the CQC has recognised the hard work of our staff in making Deangate Care Home a safe, comfortable and caring environment for our residents.
“We offer the highest levels of residential and respite care across the home, including on our specialist dementia suite, Poppy Lane.
“We will strive to build on the high levels of service we currently provide and hope to get an “Outstanding” rating at our next inspection.”
