CHRISTMAS came early at Deangate Care Home after twins Sophia and Olivia Bentley knitted slippers and nap blankets for the residents.
The Wellgate Primary School pupils, both aged nine, wrapped the gifts for Christmas day and delivered them to the home, in Mapplewell, Barnsley.
The twins are part of Mapplewell Library’s Knit and Natter group, which also donated gifts of toiletries and chocolates.
Librarian Beverly Kenworthy, who started the knitting club, said: “The girls have been working hard on the slippers and nap blankets and wanted to donate them to the residents at Deangate Care Home.
“The other gifts were donated by staff and customers at Mapplewell Library so a big thank you goes to them for their generosity.”
Jonathan Edwards, home manager at Deangate Care Home, said: “The visit from the twins was the highlight of our residents’ day. We are so grateful to them for dropping by and delivering these wonderful gifts.
“They will help to make it a fantastic Christmas for everyone at Deangate Care Home.”
