Tonbridge care home residents avoid snow and enjoy manicures and makeovers

Resident Marjorie Watson receives manicure from Nicola Newman

With the frosty weather well and truly underway, residents at Barnes Lodge were treated to an afternoon of pampering in the home’s salon and therapy room.

Snow has been falling and a storm is on the way, so what better way is there to spend a wintry afternoon than avoiding the big freeze and enjoying a spot of indulgence.

Residents of the brand new Tudeley Lane care home were left feeling extremely relaxed and stress free after a few hours in the home’s salon. They were treated to luxurious manicures followed by a visit to the home’s hairdresser for a restyle.

Nicola Newman, social activities facilitator at Barnes Lodge, said: “We have a lovely salon and therapy room here at Barnes Lodge, so it’s lovely to be able to pamper the residents in a setting that feels like we could be out on the high street.

“This kind of activity provides great one to one time with the residents too, as whilst we’re painting their nails we can spend some quality time together and have a chat!”
