A Yarm care home has hosted a ‘winter wonderland’ for the benefit of the community and its residents.

Ayresome Court, which is operated by Akari Care, raised a total of £300.00 for its Residents’ Comfort Fund at the Christmas fayre.

Staff, residents and their families all came together for the event, which included entertainment from performers, various stalls, including a bottle stall, and a raffle with all prizes donated by members of the community.

The home also hosted a pantomime performance of Jack and the Beanstalk, as part of the celebrations, with residents and guests treated to candyfloss and popcorn.

Lin Cordey, home manager at Ayresome Court, said: “It is a special time of year, and we are always looking at ways to provide enjoyable activities to our residents. The Christmas fayre was the perfect way to cap off the year, and I would like to thank everyone for attending and supporting our residents’ fund, which makes events like this possible.

“We are looking forward to hosting even more events in the New Year and throughout 2017.”

Based on Green Lane, Ayresome Court provides residential care for up to 43 elderly residents.
