Residents and staff at Ingersley Court, the Croftwood Care-run residential care home in Cheshire, raised a glass to the fundraising efforts of the local community after receiving a £1000 donation from the Bollington Beer Festival.
In the spirit of the festival, Chairperson of the Bollington Beer Festival committee Roland Edwards presented the generous donation to Ingersley Court over a pint of real ale at local pub, The Poachers Inn. The money was raised as part of the town’s fifth annual beer festival, which was held in the summer of 2016.
The donation will go towards refurbishing Ingersley Court’s garden to create an accessible and relaxing outdoor area for residents at the home.
Dr. Edwards commented: “We are delighted to make this donation to Ingersley Court care home. We’re passionate about supporting good causes that benefit Bollington and its residents, and all of us look forward to watching the garden develop. I would like to extend our thanks to the festival’s main sponsors, the Bollington Brewing Company, who have wholeheartedly supported the festival since its inception.”
Janice Johnson, Home Manager at Ingersley Court, commented: “At Ingersley Court, we’re dedicated to providing a safe and pleasant environment for our residents. While having a more accessible garden may seem like a small thing, it can make a big difference to someone’s quality of life. Speaking on behalf of everyone at Ingersley Court, I would like to say a big thank you to the festival committee for their generosity. We are extremely grateful for their support and are excited to start work on our new garden area.”
The Bollington Beer Festival donates a significant proportion of its surplus to community projects committed to improving quality of life for Bollington residents. The next Bollington Beer Festival will be held on 21st and 22nd July, with online ticket sales starting in mid-May.
