Reminiscence was in the air at Edward Moore House Residential Home on Tuesday 8th October, as residents had a ball at a vintage themed tea dance.
With the lounge suitably adorned for the occasion, with balloons, flags and bunting hung for miles, the residents of the Trinity Road care home got together in the large lounge, ready for an afternoon of memories and merriment.
Dressed in full fifties attire, The Cherylettes, provided the backing track for the party, singing a variety of wartime classics, as the residents sang and danced with one another.
The residents had an absolutely wonderful time, singing and dancing the afternoon away, with one resident commenting, “I hope they come back tomorrow!”
Chris Hutchinson, home manager of Edward Moore House said: “The residents had a great afternoon at the vintage tea dance, everything was just fabulous, from the ladies’ costumes to the selection of songs they performed.
“Many of our residents spent their younger days at tea dances, in fact, it was how a number of them met their partners, so it was very nostalgic for many of them too!”
