Set up by activities coordinators Alison Fischer and Sandra Forshaw, the art club has proved to be very popular with residents, with many using the opportunity to relax and let their creative juices flow.
From producing light water-colours to bold abstract pieces, all residents have been given the opportunity to get involved in the programme, with many hidden talent uncovered.
Using art as a means of expression is particularly therapeutic for individuals living with dementia. For individuals who find verbal communication increasingly challenging, art can provide an alternative outlet for their thoughts, emotions and experiences.
Alison Fischer, Activities Coordinator at Aaron Grange, commented:
“We display the art works throughout Aaron Grange so that residents and their guests are able to enjoy their artistic endeavours!”
