Pupils’ mural unveiled by Mayor at Stockton on Tees care home


hill-care-care-industry-newsTHE MAYOR of Stockton-on-Tees officially unveiled a garden mural created by school pupils for elderly residents.


Mayor Councillor Ken Dixon was the guest of honour at the unveiling ceremony at The Beeches Care Home, Green Lane, Newtown.


The mural of colourful birds, flowers and butterflies was created by pupils from Stockton Riverside College to brighten the garden for elderly residents living at the home.


Liz Jones, Customer Relations Officer for Hill Care Group, which manages The Beeches, said: “The mural brightens a large wall that our residents look onto from the lounge and dining areas.


“We can’t thank the students enough for their hard work. We were pleased to see so many attending the official unveiling and we’d especially like to thank Mayor Councillor Dixon for coming to the ceremony.”
