Chesterfield care home charity walk for Alzheimer’s Society


holmewood-walk-1A CHARITY sponsored walk through Chesterfield raised almost £300 for Alzheimer’s Society.


Staff and a relative from Holmewood Care Home, on Barnfield Close, trekked 8 miles to the city centre.


The walk ended at the home operator Hill Care’s head office on St. Mary’s Gate.


The group included care home staff Bradley Derby, Cathy Shaw, Teresa Morgan and Tessa Shirley. Son to a resident at the home, David Tomlins, whose mother Margaret Tomlins, 92, has been at Holmewood for 2 years, also took part.


The group raised £271.50 for the charity.


Holmewood Care Home deputy manager, Cathy said: “We’d like to thank everyone who donated and supported us for the sponsored walk.


“Holmewood cares for a number of residents who live with dementia and so Alzheimer’s Society is a charity close to our hearts.”
