A nurse at a Catterick Garrison nursing home for the elderly was treated to a surprise party to celebrate her two decades of service to the home and its residents.
Helen McFarlane-Stevens has worked at Rosedale Nursing Home, which provides permanent and respite care for up to 63 people with nursing, residential and dementia-related residential and nursing care needs, since qualifying in 1996.
A dedicated and popular member of the Rosedale team, Helen has a passion for working with the elderly and says she enjoys her work.
Residents and staff at the home held a surprise party for Mrs McFarlane-Stevens to mark her career milestone and presented her with gifts and bouquet of flowers on behalf of the home. Activities Coordinator Julie Dempsey created a display of photos taken of Helen at activities and events at the home throughout her many years of service.
Ruth Sunter, Manager at Rosedale Nursing Home, Said: “Helen is an amazing nurse and a very popular member of the team here, not just with staff members but with our residents and their families too. She is so dedicated, anyone who has met Helen knows that she has a true passion for care.”
